Beijing-Hong Kong economic symposium to be held soon

"2008 Olympics" will be the keynote of the tenth Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium.

According to Wang Xiaoming, deputy secretary-general of the Beijing municipal government, the major theme of the symposium will be the update on the preparations of the Beijing Olympic Games. And he also mentioned that the equestrian events are to be held in Hong Kong, which would provoke great enthusiasm among Hong Kong people.

Expected to be held in Hong Kong in mid-November, the symposium will cover a large range of issues, including Olympic exhibition and promotion activities, display of licensed Olympic products, consulting services on Olympic-related laws and regulations, Olympic marketing, cultural activities, volunteer recruitment, ticketing, as well as the handout of Olympic publications.

Besides, in order to grasp the Olympic chance, and to develop Beijing HK economy, the symposium would put the discussion concerning logistics and tourism on its schedule. Agreements concerning the promotion of sales of tourist products are expected to be signed on the symposium. Through close cooperation, the two sides can complement each other, achieve mutual development, and provide first-class service to the world in 2008.
